Final Reflection:

As freshman year was ending the choice to take AP World History was just around the corner. I decided to take APWH for a couple of reasons. First reason was that I wanted a higher GPA and secondly was I wanted a challenge. Everyone was saying it was a hard course but it was worth taking. Although at first I didn't know what I was getting into I tried to not hear all those people saying it was the hardest class of their sophomore year. I didn't believe them so I signed up for the class. Last reason was I wanted to have credits if I passed the AP Exam for college. The three aspects I will be reflecting are my studying and preparation, rigor, and things I liked.

Throughout the year Mr.Rodriquez assigned plenty of homework. Even before we entered the class we had homework assigned over the summer. I completed the assignment  as I always do all my homework. I started very good in the beginning of the year. I was doing all my homework and listening on all the tips Mr.Rodriquez gave my class. I studied hard but I think I could have studied harder. Although sometimes some of the work was hard to complete because the AP book didn't provide all the information needed sometimes I had to research online. When I didn't understand something while reading I looked it up online. I was determined to pass all my test and looking back and my performance I did well I passed all my tests and essays. When the time to study for the AP exam I made up for all those other nights i slacked of and didn't study. Those three weeks of preparation I worked the hardest I did the whole year. I reread most of the AP book and went through my notes in my notebook and the key concept packets. Although I don't know what I got on my AP Exam I'm confident that my hard work and studying paid of.

The class overall was okay. It wasn't to hard but not to easy either. From a scale from one through ten, and ten being the hardest I give it a six. The material was not hard to memorize. The Chinese Dynasty song played a big role in my success because I was able to memorize what happened in China per dynasty and with that connect it to other regions. What was really challenging was reading the textbook. I had trouble concentrating and I still haven't gotten over it. That is what slowed me down in the class. Overall the class was a learning experience that handwork pays of. I didn't give up reading that text book and I passed all my test so I'm happy with the results. Another thing that made this class vigorous was the essays. I had a hard time writing the CCOT, but Mr.Rodriquez provided workshops on Saturday to get practice and gave us tips like the Chinese Dynasty song.

Three things I really liked from AP World was the debates, Mr. Rodriquez's way of teaching, and the amount of work Mr.Rodriquez gave us. Firstly, the debates were fun. We got to debate against our classmates and it was fun planning our strategy to defeat our opponent. Although I only got to the third round I was happy I got through it. Secondly, Mr.Rodriquez's way of teaching was different from other teachers. Not only did he talk but he also showed us videos and power points that helped us further understand the material. He made jokes during class so it won't be boring. Lastly, the amount of work Mr.Rodriquez gave out was the main thing I liked. Although I don't enjoy doing homework I knew he was testing our will and wanting to succeed and I was going to let myself down primarily. I did all my work because I knew it was going to pay of later.

To sum it all I really enjoyed APWH this year. I enjoyed the debates, teachers way of teaching, and amount of homework. I don't regret taking this class. The class was hard but I managed to get through it and I recommend it to future sophomores because this class will teach you discipline and will benefit you with an extra point for your GPA. Mr.Rodriquez is a great teacher who will be there for you when you need it and will do whatever he needs to do to prepare you for that AP Exam.Mr.Rodriquez keep up the good work.
